Ping objects

PingTool pings objects and displays the result in colour (green/red). If the object responds, the response time is displayed.

Check TCP ports

A TCP port that is checked can also be specified for each object. As servers almost always provide TCP ports, this can be used to check more precisely whether a server is functional. The TCP PortCheck command line tool is integrated in PingTool and enables very convenient TCP port monitoring.

LAN Speed test

The tool allows you to perform network speed tests on the LAN. It performs several file copy operations and measures the bandwidth in Mbps from the determined time. A history is kept so that speed test results can be compared with each other. This tool for measuring bandwidth is part of a network administrator's toolbox.

Scan IP address range

PingTool can scan IP address ranges. There is also an option to scan consecutive computer names (example: Printer001 to Printer200).

User-defined actions

You can define your own favorite actions and apply them via right mouse click (context menu) on one or multiple objects. The actions can consist of a simple command, a concatenation of commands or complete batch files. PingTool can be individually adapted to your requirements.

Wake up computers

PingTool can wake up remote computers via Wake-On-Lan. The Magic Packet is sent for this purpose. Several computers can be woken up at the same time.

Wake-up across subnet boundaries

Most routers are not configured to allow wake-on-lan packets to pass by default. Read how to solve this problem: Wake-On-Lan other subnet.
